  Living in
the Acoustic
Environment

ASA School 2014 is an Acoustical Society of America event where graduate students and early career acousticians in all areas of acoustics can learn about and discuss a wide variety of topics related to the interdisciplinary acoustical theme Living in the Acoustic Environment.
ASA School 2014 follows on the success of ASA School 2012 and will provide opportunities for meeting faculty and fellow students, discussing research topics, developing collaborations and professional relationships within acoustics, and mentoring.
Program and Costs
Lectures, demonstrations, and discussions will be given by distinguished acousticians in a two- day program covering topics in Acoustical Oceanography, Animal Bioacoustics, Biomedical Acoustics, Physical Acoustics, Signal Processing in Acoustics, Structural Acoustics and Vibration, and Underwater Acoustics. The registration fee is $50. Hotel rooms for two nights (double- occupancy), meals, and course materials are provided by ASA. Participants are responsible for their own travel costs.
Participants and Requirements
ASA School 2014 is targeted to graduate students in all areas of acoustics and early career acousticians (within 3 years of terminal degree). Attendance is limited to 60 participants who are expected to attend all School events and the ASA meeting immediately following on 5-9 May 2014. ASA School attendees are required to be an author on an abstract for presentation at the ASA meeting.
