Dimitrios L. Sounas is a postdoctoral
fellow with the Metamaterials and Plas-
monics Research Group, University of
Texas at Austin. His research interests
span a broad range of areas, including
microwaves, optics, metamaterials, and
acoustics. He is the author or coauthor
of 36 journal papers, 64 conference papers, 2 book chapters and 4 patents. His papers have been published in journals such as Science, Nature Physics, Nature Communications, and Physical Review Letters. His work has been covered by the general media and recently resulted in a start-up com- pany on magnetic-free circulators.
Michael R. Haberman is a Research Sci- entist at Applied Research Laboratories and Department of Mechanical Engi- neering, University of Texas at Austin. He received a BS in Mechanical Engi- neering from the University of Idaho in 2000, MS and PhD degrees from Geor-
gia Institute of Technology in 2001 and 2007, respectively, and Diplôme de Doctorat in Engineering Mechanics from Université de la Lorraine, Metz, France, in 2006. His research interests include wave phenomena in complex acoustic and elastic media, acoustic materials design, nondestructive test- ing, and acoustic transducers. He received a 2012 ASNT Fel- lowship Award and serves as an Associate Editor of JASA.
Andrea Alù is an Associate Professor
and Endowed Faculty Fellow in Engi-
neering at the University of Texas at
Austin. He received Laurea, MS, and
PhD degrees from the University of
Roma Tre, Italy, in 2001, 2003, and
2007, respectively. His research inter-
ests span a broad range of areas, including metamaterials and plasmonics, electromagnetics, optics, and acoustics. He has published over 300 journal papers and received several professional awards, including the 2015 NSF Alan T. Water- man Award, the 2013 OSA Adolph Lomb Medal, and the 2011 URSI Issac Koga Gold Medal. He is a fellow of OSA and IEEE.
