Lauri Savioja received his Doctor of Science in Technology from the Helsinki University of Technology (TKK), Espoo,
Finland, in 1999. He worked at the TKK Laboratory of Telecommunications Software and Multimedia as a researcher, lecturer, and professor from 1995 until the formation of Aalto University where he currently is a professor and head of the Department of Computer Science. His research interests include room acoustics, virtual reality, and parallel computation. Prof. Savioja is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America
and the Audio Engineering Society.

Ning Xiang is director of the Graduate
Program in Architectural Acoustics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA). He is a coeditor of Acoustics, Information, and Communication (2015) and the editor of Architectural Acoustics Handbook (2017). Dr. Xiang is a coordinating editor for the section on architectural acoustics of The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America and an editorial board member of ASA Press. He served as chair of the Technical Committee on Signal Processing in Acoustics of the ASA (2013–2015) and received the Wallace Clement
Sabine Medal from the ASA in 2014.
