About the Authors Mitra Aliabouzar aliabouz@umich.edu Department of Radiology University of Michigan 1301 Catherine Street Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109, USA Mitra Aliabouzar graduated from Tehran Polytechnic, Tehran, Iran, in 2009 with a BS degree in biomedi- cal engineering. Dr. Aliabouzar received her MS degree in 2011 from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in biomedical engineering. She completed a PhD in the Mechanical and Aero- space Engineering Department at George Washington University, Washington, DC, in 2018. Subsequently, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, under the direction of Mario Fabiilli. Currently, Dr. Aliabouzar is a research assistant professor at the University of Michigan. Her research interests are focused on understanding the physical mechanisms and acoustic cavitation properties of phase-shift emulsions for tissue characterization and regeneration. Mario Fabiilli mfabiill@umich.edu Department of Radiology University of Michigan 1301 Catherine Street Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109, USA Mario Fabiilli is a Research Associate Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Fabiilli earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 2003 and a PhD in biomedical engineering in 2010, both from the University of Michigan. Prior to his doctoral stud- ies, he worked as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Fabiilli’s research focuses on the development of ultrasound-based therapies and biomaterials that are controlled using ultrasound, with an emphasis on tissue regeneration and drug delivery. He was awarded the Fred- eric Lizzi Early Career Award from the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound in 2021.
