Knowles Electronics - Principal Engineer Opportunity
Knowles Electronics is the world's leading manufacturer of miniature audio transducers, microphones, receivers, wax protection systems, acoustic dampers, and accessories for the hearing health industry. For more than fifty years, Knowles has researched, designed, developed and delivered technologically advanced acoustic products that improve people's lives.
  R&D Engineering
With a global staff of over 50 engineers, Knowles Electronics maintains a highly skilled and specialized Research and Development group dedicated to subminiature transducer design and manufacture. With diverse backgrounds in acoustical engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, as well as expertise in physics, materials science, and computer modeling, Knowles R&D group is making the designs of today a reality and is constantly pushing the limits of technology for tomorrow’s products.
For over 50 years, Knowles’ R&D staff has been continually at the forefront of subminiature acoustics technology, actively involved in both product development and forward-looking research.
New Technologies
PHF receiver family
With the revolutionary PantographTM drive mechanism, the PHFreceiver family provides a quantum leap in receiver performance for modern BTE hearing aids. Its greatly reduced vibration signature and increased acoustic power output enhance aid stability, increase hearing instrument gain – without increasing instrument size – and dramatically improve gain-before-feedback.
Ferrofluid Damped Receivers
Knowles’ development of ferrofluid receivers improves hearing aid durability. Damping is achieved by injecting a small amount of ferrofluid, a viscous oil containing microscopic magnetic Fe3O4 particles, between the magnets and armature. This fluid acts as a cushion for the armature, mechanically damping the response.
Knowles Electronics R&D group has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer.
Principle Engineer must provide strategic and tactical leadership for product development and is responsible for the success of complex engineering projects. This candidate must lead and conduct applied research and product development while maintaining product cost, product schedule and performance objectives.
Performs highly complicated and diversified engineering, research, and development and applies appropriate new product development tools such as advanced acoustic modeling, FEA, DFM/ A, FMEA, DOE and statistical evaluation methods.
Qualified candidate will have MS/ MA; related experience a plus. Computer Aided engineering skills including simulation programs and advanced mathematical modeling and analysis programs are required.
Good communication skills both essential.
Strong business acumen required.
