Acoustic Wave Propagation in Random Media
AT Collections – Acoustic Wave Propagation in Random Media
Many media through which sound waves propagate have a complex and dynamic structure; such media are commonly modeled as random. This approach gives rise to the field of acoustic wave propagation in random media (WPRM). Examples include scattering of sound by internal-wave fields in the ocean and upper atmosphere, by turbulence in the lower atmosphere, by trees in a forest, by buildings in an urban environment, by schools of fish, and by biological organs and tissue. This collection presents articles pertinent to acoustic WPRM.
