AT Collections – Noise Effect and Criteria – Acoustical Standards

Acoustics touches a wide range of our lives and the world.  Occupational and recreational noise exposure is the primary cause of hearing loss among humans.  Terrestrial and aquatic animals are affected by human-created noise.  The Acoustical Society of America is involved in researching, developing, and establishing standards for all manner of persons and animals.  Acoustic standards for speech privacy, learning environments, living spaces, and work environments are important contributions to making a better and healthier world to live.
