AT Collections – Science Communication
STEM professionals are accustomed to communicating their research and activities to peers. However, the standard conference or lecture approach for communicating usually is not the best way to educate someone with little to no background in the topic of interest. In fact, many people are uncomfortable engaging with a more general lay audience, both in speaking and in writing. This page in AT Collections provides articles and essays to help improve one’s own communication skills. The page also provides examples of successful science communication and outreach. All of this material is intended to help individuals in the classroom, at conferences, working with the lay public, and even at family gatherings.
