E. K. Ellington Scott is an engineering scientist at the Applied Research Laboratories, The University of Texas at Austin. He received a BA in physics and a BM in jazz studies from Oberlin College and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Oberlin, Ohio, and a MS/PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York. He is a recipient of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) James E. West Fellowship and the Leo and Gabriella Beranek Scholarship in Architectural Acoustics and Noise Control. He also served as an ASA Student Council representative from 2021 to 2023.
